"The Church, in every age, is called to proclaim anew, especially to young people, the beauty and abundance of grace that are contained in the sacrament of marriage and in the family life that flows from it."
- (Pope Francis, “Catechumenal Itineraries for Married Life”)
Marriage Preparation at the Five Towns Catholic Parishes
Congratulations! A Christian marriage is more than a solemn exchange of vows by an engaged couple. The marriage rite is both a personal and public celebration. It is an act of worship in which the bride and groom come together to celebrate and become a Sacrament. The couple offers thanks and praise, together with their family and friends, and asks for God’s blessing on their life together as husband and wife. We at the Five Towns Catholic Parishes take the commitment you are making very seriously and look forward to supporting and assisting you as you begin your lifelong journey.
After meeting with a priest or deacon to begin the process to your wedding day, you’ll be instructed to contact the marriage preparation coordinators. The marriage preparation consists of 3 in-person sessions (FOCCUS session; Pre-Cana Sessions) that the couple must attend. These sessions are offered twice during the year, typically around February and around September.
